LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL 24 countdown begins
The countdown to the 2024 edition has officially begun, and preparations are in full swing to set up the massive stage at the former Campo Balilla, where Eric Clapton will perform on June 2nd. He is the first artist honored with opening this year’s concert season.
The 2024 edition promises an eclectic mix of international and Italian artists, capable of satisfying all musical tastes. From rock icons to pop stars, and including electronic and indie music, the Lucca Summer Festival presents a rich and varied program.
Some of the most anticipated headliners include:
ERIC CLAPTON
ED SHEERAN
ROD STEWART
DIANA KRALL
LENNY KRAVITZ, and many others.
The tradition of the Lucca Summer Festival began in 1998, with most events taking place in Piazza Napoleone in the historic center of Lucca. On September 23, 2017, the legendary Rolling Stones made their only Italian stop at the Lucca Summer Festival, where over 25,000 tickets were sold in just the first hour.
They were the first to perform at the former Campo Balilla on the bastions of the city walls. Given the large number of expected spectators, the organization considered this alternative to accommodate more attendees.
The same goes for Eric Clapton, as previously mentioned, who will kick off the festival outside the city walls, surrounded by a unique setting. The most significant figure for this edition is undoubtedly the number of tickets already sold, which reached 183,000 according to estimates a few days ago, setting an absolute and extraordinary record. “This is the best possible recognition for our work,” commented artistic director Mimmo D’Alessandro.
All that’s left is to buy the tickets and enjoy the show.
