The Godfather Filming Locations

Ellis Island, New York

In The Godfather Part II, the flashback scene shows a young Vito Andolini arriving in America via Ellis Island. The iconic scene was filmed in the actual location where immigrants arrived in the United States. Today, Ellis Island is open to visitors, and you can take a ferry from Battery Park to explore the historic site.

The Godfather House, Staten Island

The Corleone family house sits at 110 Longfellow Avenue in the Todt Hill neighborhood of Staten Island, New York. The house was where Michael celebrated his son Anthony’s first communion and where Vito died. Unfortunately, the house is not open to the public, but you can view it from the street.

Louis Restaurant, The Bronx

Louis Restaurant was the setting for the iconic scene where Michael shoots Sollozzo and McCluskey. Despite the different name of the restaurant in the movie, the actual location was at the now-closed Genco Olive Oil Company on 237th Street in the Bronx. Although the restaurant is no longer there, you can still visit the location to see the iconic spot.

The Savoy Hotel, Rome

The Godfather Part III features the luxurious hotel in Rome where Michael and Kay stayed. The stunning hotel was the perfect set for the dramatic scenes that take place in the movie. Today, the hotel still exists, and you can stay in one of the beautiful rooms where the movie was filmed.
